Before LampShady was one of Salt Lake City’s premier open format DJ, he was a child of the ‘90s, raised in Chicago. Growing up musically inclined, he played an array of instruments in school and punk rock bands; though, he found his true calling in 2001 after discovering turntablism, and having thoughts like, “How’re they making those sounds?!”.  After graduating high school, he left Chicago to pursue his passions of mountain living in California, where he started booking his first events.

Playing venues from the West Coast to Chicago, LampShady’s settled down for the meantime in Salt Lake City, Utah. Catch him on the decks at local bars, clubs, corporate events, DJ battles, and even passing down the art of DJing as an instructor at ‘The HERC’, Salt Lake City’s premier facility dedicated to Hip-Hop arts. As much as LampShady loves teaching, he’ll always remain a student at heart, and a member of mentor Rob Swift’s prolific ‘Brolic Army’ DJ crew.
